
Abu Nuhas
Abu Nuhas is a large triangular shaped reef. The average depth is 24m/79ft and water visibility is around 20-30m/65-100ft. The reef is located just a little bit north of Shadwan Island, a 2.5 hour boat ride from Hurghada. With numerous ships in dive-friendly depths, Shaab Abu Nuhas provides world-class wreck exploration .With 7 wrecks in shallow waters, Shaab Abu Nuhas offers premier wreck diving for advanced divers seeking shallow thrift diving and penetrating interior access. The wrecks are on the northern and rougher side of the reef with the main ones from west to east being the Giannis D, the Carnatic, the Chrisoula K and the Kimon M. The most famous wrecks are the Carnatic and Giannis D, both excellent choices to explore. Wreck interiors contain glassfish, triggerfish, lionfish, and pipefish with occasional dolphin sightings outside. Though accessible to beginners, Shaab Abu Nuhas has rough conditions with currents and surges, so some wreck experience is recommended. Visibility remains excellent year-round.
