Bannerfish
Heniochus intermedius
The Red Sea bannerfish is a marine ray-finned fish, a butterflyfish of the family Chaetodontidae, native to the western Indian Ocean. It has turned up as an introduced species off Florida and as a Lessepsian migrant in the eastern Mediterranean off Turkey.

Habitat
It is tied to coral reefs, where it is most often seen alone or in pairs, though large schools do occur. Juveniles gather in big schools, especially over deeper reef areas where coral cover is sparse.
Behaviour
The Red Sea bannerfish feeds on both zooplankton and bottom-dwelling invertebrates, although how much live coral it takes is still uncertain. It is an egg-laying species that pairs up monogamously to spawn.
