Habitat
Adults generally form small groups around coral heads or large rocks, while juveniles associate with large sea anemones or shelter among the spines of Diadema sea urchins or branching corals. The species occurs to depths of 55 m (180 ft).
Behaviour
As with others in the Dascyllus trimaculatus species complex, the domino damsel recognises members of its own species using sound.
