Grouper
Epinephelus fasciatus
The blacktip grouper, also called the redbanded grouper and known by a string of other regional names such as blacktipped cod and red-barred rockcod, is a ray-finned fish in the grouper family Epinephelidae. It occurs throughout the tropical Indo-Pacific.

Habitat
It associates with coral reefs across a depth range of 4 to 160 m, though it is more usual below about 15 m. It can occupy both marine and brackish water, with juveniles sometimes sheltering in mangrove swamps, and it is occasionally seen in groups of 10 to 15.
Behaviour
It preys on crustaceans and smaller fish, taking them by ambush.
